Privacy Policy for AutoCut Football

Last updated: August 29, 2026

Introduction

Smokinserver LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates the AutoCut Football application (the "App") for iOS and macOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our App.

This Privacy Policy applies only to the AutoCut Football App and does not cover any other websites, apps, or services operated by Smokinserver LLC.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. AutoCut Football is designed so that video analysis happens on your device. Your videos and play data stay on your device and in your personal iCloud account unless you optionally include them when submitting a bug report, enhancement request, or training request, as described below.

Information We Do Not Collect by Default

The App does not automatically collect, transmit, or share your game videos or play data with Smokinserver LLC. Specifically:

  • Automatic video uploads: We do not automatically access, upload, or transmit your videos or play data. All analysis and processing occurs on your device using Apple's on-device machine learning. You may optionally send a video and play list only when submitting a bug report, enhancement request, or training request; that option is off by default and is described below.
  • Usage Data: We do not collect behavioral data about how you use the App's features.
  • Location Data: We do not access or collect your location information.

How the App Works

AutoCut Football uses Apple's on-device machine learning and Neural Engine to analyze your videos for plays. Here's how data is handled:

  • On-Device Processing: All video analysis and AI processing happens entirely on your device. Your videos never leave your device for processing. The only way a video leaves your device is if you optionally include it when submitting a bug report, enhancement request, or training request.
  • Photos Library Access: The App requires access to your Photos library to select videos for analysis. This access is used solely to display videos within the App and to process them at your direction.
  • iCloud Storage: If you use iCloud, the App may store processing results in your personal iCloud account. This data is tied to your Apple ID and is not accessible to Smokinserver LLC. It is stored and managed by Apple in accordance with Apple's terms and privacy policy. This enables synchronization of your work across your Apple devices.

Optional Video and Play List Uploads

Video upload is optional. It is available only when you submit a bug report, enhancement request, or training request from the App, and the include-video option is off by default. If you select Improve Training, a video and its play list are required for that kind of request so we can improve play detection.

If you optionally include a video with a bug report, enhancement request, or training request, we receive:

  • The video file you chose to include
  • Play list data from the App (play start and end times and related play metadata) so we can review or train on the labeled timeline
  • Your email address, feedback type, and written description
  • App version, device model, and operating system version included with the report

By optionally including a video with a bug report, enhancement request, or training request, you confirm you have the right to share it and agree that we may use it to improve AutoCut play detection, including future model training. We store those optionally uploaded videos and play lists on Cloudflare R2. We verify that this optional upload comes from a genuine copy of the App using Apple's App Store transaction information (such as bundle identifier). We do not receive your Apple ID.

If you want a video or play list you optionally included with a bug report, enhancement request, or training request deleted, email [email protected].

Crash Reporting and User Feedback

To improve app stability and respond to user feedback, we use Sentry, a third-party error monitoring service. This integration collects:

  • Crash Data: Stack traces and error information when the app crashes
  • Session Data: Anonymous session counts to understand app usage (no behavioral tracking)
  • Device Information: Device model, operating system version, and app version (for debugging purposes only)
  • User Feedback: When you voluntarily submit feedback through the App, we collect your message and email address (required so we can follow up). If you optionally include a video with a bug report, enhancement request, or training request, that video is stored as described in Optional Video and Play List Uploads, not in Sentry.

What Sentry does NOT receive:

  • Your video files or play list files
  • Personal files or documents on your device
  • Browsing history or app usage patterns
  • Location data

This data is transmitted to Sentry's servers. For more information about how Sentry handles data, please see Sentry's Privacy Policy.

You can distinguish between development and production environments in our data collection, ensuring test data is separated from real user data.

Advertising and Analytics

We use Apple's SKAdNetwork together with the Facebook SDK (operated by Meta Platforms, Inc.) to measure the effectiveness of our advertising in a privacy-preserving way. The Facebook SDK logs the following events so we can measure ad conversions and campaign performance. We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII) for advertising. Conversion and usage measurement is based only on aggregate data provided by Apple's SKAdNetwork (e.g., postback notifications that do not identify you or your device).

Events we track:

  • App Install — First launch of the app (automatic)
  • App Activate — Each time the app comes to the foreground (automatic)
  • StoreKit Purchases — Any StoreKit transaction (automatic, implicit logging)
  • Start Trial — First play detected in a video (custom event)
  • Purchase / Subscribe — Successful subscription (custom event)

All of this data is aggregated and anonymized. We do not receive or use device-level identifiers (such as the advertising identifier), and no data is linked to you personally. For more information about how Facebook handles data in this context, please see Facebook's Data Policy.

What we do NOT collect for advertising purposes:

  • Your video files or any media content
  • Personal identifying information (name, email, phone)
  • Device-level identifiers (e.g., IDFA) or data that identifies you
  • Detailed behavioral tracking or app usage patterns
  • Location data
  • Contacts or other personal data from your device

Third-Party Services

The following third parties may have access to limited data:

  • Apple: Through iCloud storage (for synchronizing your processing results across devices) and App Store distribution. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • Sentry: Crash reports, session data, and user feedback as described above (see Sentry's Privacy Policy).
  • Facebook/Meta: We use the Facebook SDK to log App Install, App Activate, StoreKit Purchases, Start Trial, and Purchase/Subscribe events; only aggregate conversion data (no PII or device identifiers) is used for ad measurement (see Facebook's Data Policy).
  • Cloudflare: If you optionally include a video when submitting a bug report, enhancement request, or training request, that video and play list are stored on Cloudflare R2 (see Cloudflare's Privacy Policy).

Data Storage and Security

Video analysis data resides locally on your device or in your personal iCloud account (if iCloud is enabled), protected by your Apple ID credentials and Apple's security measures.

Crash reports and written feedback are stored on Sentry's secure servers (see their privacy policy for details).

If you optionally include a video when submitting a bug report, enhancement request, or training request, that video and its play list are stored on Cloudflare R2 so we can review the report and, with your agreement, for possible future training.

Website Analytics

This Privacy Policy is hosted on our website, which also includes our Help and documentation pages. Our website may use standard web analytics tools (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics) to measure website traffic and usage. This is separate from optional videos you may include only when submitting a bug report, enhancement request, or training request.

This analytics data collection occurs only on our website and never within the App. The information collected by such tools may include general usage data such as pages visited, browser type, and approximate geographic region, and is governed by the website's privacy practices and Cloudflare's policies.

Smokinserver LLC does not combine any website analytics data with App usage, and no website analytics data is linked to your activity within the App.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has submitted feedback or optionally uploaded a video with a bug report, enhancement request, or training request, contact us and we will delete it.

Your Rights

We collect personal data when you voluntarily submit feedback (email address and message) and, if you optionally include one when submitting a bug report, enhancement request, or training request, a video and play list. Advertising conversion measurement uses only aggregate data via Apple's SKAdNetwork and does not identify you. If you want feedback or an optionally uploaded video from a bug report, enhancement request, or training request removed, contact us. You have full control over your on-device data:

  • App Data: You can delete any locally stored App data by deleting the App from your device.
  • iCloud Data: You can manage or delete any iCloud data through your Apple ID settings.
  • Optionally uploaded videos: Email [email protected] to request deletion of a video or play list you optionally included with a bug report, enhancement request, or training request.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
